LB putting on the LBs

We're officially the proud parents of a 4 pounder! In less than three weeks, Linden Bloom (aka LB) has been putting on the LBs. Having started at 2lb 13ounces on 9/9, Linden weighed in at 4lb 1ounce on 9/29. That's about an ounce per day. At this rate, she'll cross the 500 lb mark right around her 22nd birthday.

It's only Tuesday but it has already been a big week for Linden. Having started trying to feed from a bottle this weekend, she quickly took on more challenges. On Monday, they removed her picc line (the IV I mentioned in the last post) and the doctor said that when she walked in, Linden had taken her nasal cannula out and it was laying next to her. Guess she's trying to show that she's ready for another challenge. The doctor didn't agree and wants to keep the cannula a bit longer.

Now that the picc line is removed, she's receiving all of her nutrition through her feeding tube and through the bottle. As she transitions to taking more feedings from the bottle, she'll eventually be rid of the feeding tube and the oxygen and moved to an open crib, which will be her last step before coming home.

When we came into her room today, the nurse told us that she's been wide awake, working on the pacifier. Looks like she's practicing for tonight's bottle attempt.

    1. Credit to Katie Bragg for the LB putting on LBs line. I think when you said that it was the first time I'd heard it. :)
